Default Downshift into 4th....Grind???

I'm cruisng down the parway the other day and about to get off my exit, so I downshift into 4th gear and it grinds a bit. I thought maybe I didnt have the clutch in all the way so I forget about it. Same things happens today and I was sure that the clutch was to the ground. It wasnt as bad but it had a notchy feel and made a quick click. What is this? Syncros going. Id figured 2nd would be the first to go if anything. Maybe bushing? I dunno. Ideas?

How many miles are on your car? Have you ever changed the fluid?

30K miles, fluid change 2K ago. Did it again today. It seems like it does it grinds when I downshift from 60+ MPH. Otherwise it wont.

Likely a synchro issue, you should try to get it covered under warranty.

I had to get this taken care of at about 17k miles. Same gear too.

I just got the same stuff on mine STi 04. It was grinding going from 5th to 4th at higher speeds. I though it was synchross, but when I brought it to dealer, they said it was 4th gears going bad and will have to be replaced (after checking my car of course). Car has 39K miles and it is covered under manufactured warranty.

Sounds like taking this one to the dealer is the way to go. On a side note what fluid did you use?

Yes, add a "revmatch" in between the bolded areas.
