I've read on here about your first impressions and some fitment issues w/ the earlier versions. My main goal in starting this thread is to get your "long term reviews" on how well this fairly expensive mod has performed over time. Also, please mention if your car is stock (power wise) or what whp/wtq its at.

Thanks for your time

there's already a huge thread on the acpt driveshaft w/ some long term reviews.

ACPT Carbon Fiber Driveshaft, Thread #2

you should be able to find some good info in that thread.

I've read that thread and it contains more of a general discussion, rather than the specific info that I'm (and possibly others) looking for;

How many miles have you ran the ACPT DS for?
How much whp/wtq are you running (mods, if you haven't been dyno'd)?
Any issues so far?

Well mine has been in for two weeks and has seen 80 miles. It vibrates terribly at 80mph and James from ACPT wont call me back after 5 phone calls. They already shipped me the wrong one and took two months to do that (now were 3 going on 4). The shaft has been in more than one car and it does the same thing. The car definately feels faster though...

My car with only headers and TBE dynoed @ 253hp and 258tq uncorrected on a land and sea dyno before the addition of the AP2,cobb crank pulley, and driveshaft.

I've put about 500 miles on mine since I got it a month ago. Engine is totally stock, made 245hp/251tq on a mustang dyno before it was installed. Stock engine/tranny mounts, as well. No vibrations, no complaints. Real testing at Laguna Seca on Monday.

Sorry to hear about your trouble, dsm02c

I talked to my friend at ACPT and he said James has been out of town all week and will be back on Monday. Maybe this is why you have not received a phone call yet. I was trying to get a hold of him to order my shaft.

I have zero complaints about my DS. Put 7500 miles on mine with, TBE, V2 AP. No vibrations, and love 4th, 5th, and 6th gears just as much as the first 3 now.

And I forgot to mention the smoothness in transition between gears, less shock shifting.

How does the improvements compare w/ installing a lightweight pulley and/or flywheel? Any of you install one of these after already having a LW pulley and/or flywheel, and still notice a big improvement?

I was actually first on the original group buy (but not first to get it) - quick install, zero vibrations, still going strong. Zero issues.

Different order here...did the pulley first, then CF driveshaft, then the flywheel. Honestly, the improvement from the CF wasn't huge in my opinion as well as on the dyno. I posted my before / after pulls in the big thread, gains were fairly small. This makes sense when you think about the physics, also makes sense that the flywheel feels awesome in low gears! Flywheel is better bang for the buck, but CF also has some other benefits like lower torsional spring rate and more weight reduction.

Did you have any issues with a CEL after installing the crank pulley and the flywheel? I was reading that some WRX's received a CEL from installing both the crank pulley and the flywheel.

No issue, that's a WRX thing only

Approximately 10k on mine, 400WHP, all the bushings you can think of, Cusco tranny & motor mounts.....no issues.
