while installing the short shifter, we had problem with getting the reverse lock perfect, took us lil time to figure it out but eventually, we figured it out. i saw that reverse lock cable is hanging down and that huge tranny bar thing that turns might be scraping it, maybe that was the problem all along? and yes, this happens when i let go of the gas pedal and decelerating. no noise associated with accelerating.

i really dont think this is any of the gears grinding i know with changing the bushings u have an increase in the tranny driveshaft noise .. but i really do think its the reverse lockout cable ... take the boot out and take the car for a spin while in gear pull the reverse lockout cable up from under the shifter where it goes through the hole in the rubber boot down at the bottom (the reverse lockout ring being pulled up may not help) .. i'm almost positive this is whats going on because i ran into the same prob after doing my cobb double adjustable short shifter

wasn't giving you attitude, but you shouldn't tackle something you know nothing about even if someone is doing it for you because you can't be certain they know wtf they're doing or if they half ass.

i jacked up and zip died the reverse lock cable. it seems the noise went down when i pulled up the cable (before zip tying it)

i still do here some grinding noise but not as much as before, i suppose that is the gear rotating?

the noise seldom catches my attension now, unlike before, i have to actually listen carefully while driving.

is there anyway to reduce the grinding noise further?
