You can do off the shelf (OTS) maps with an AP with some of your mods, but anything that will drastically change metered air or amount of fuel is probably going to require (or atleast greatly benefit from) a tune.

I have 32,000 miles on my OEM clutch and have launched a number of times... not all the time, but enough to break it if I was doing it really wrong. I try to be good to my clutch... but a launch is a launch is a launch unless you have no respect for the fact your launching an AWD car with sticky tires!

All I do is rev it up a few times to catch it on the way up to ~4500 RPMs or so, let the clutch out just quick enoung so you wouldn't call it a dump, and voila, a 3-4 car length AWD burnout.

That being said, my clutch is at the tippy top of its travel and I am waiting for it to start slipping! ....Sometimes I imagine it really is slipping, but it still holds 5th gear roll ons.... for now!

The way I look at it these cars are not burnout machines... it's hard on them. I get much more frequent jollies making a 2nd or 3rd gear corner and steering with my right foot... that takes a little more tourque than stock and some handling mods so your car rotates more on command.... Now that's fun that I don't guilty about! ... drifting an AWD car with control, it's sorta like a launch-burnout(?)!
