IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | when running around town today i did an quick down shift when coming up to a light and heard a massive 'snap clunk' sound from somewhere near the tranny. perplexed i slowly cruised to a stop and did a visual inspection which showed nothing strange. drove off again and car shifted fine going up, with both quick and slow clutch releases but when downshifting the noise popped up again if i did it to quickly. i've had a new block put in 980 ish miles ago and the car didn't make the sound before the shop worked on it. bringing it into the shop on monday to let them look at it but before i do anyone have input on what it could possibly be? don't want to get hosed by a shop if i can avoid it.
