| Junior STI Driver | I am upgrading to a blouch dominator III with a 8cm2 exhaust side and from what I have seen it should be around 400-430wtq. I was looking at the act sprung 6 puck and the rps sprung 6 puck. would these clutches be an overkill, or is this a good clutch to run for this amount of power? IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (2) | I have the stock clutch with 395 wtq with no problems. I roadrace every month too but bet that I would have killed my clutch if i was drag racing. What use do you plan for your car? |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I have the sprung RPS 6-puck and love it. Pedal effort is only slightly more than stock, not heavy at all. It's grabby but can be modulated smoothly. No chatter or funny noises or anything. I still stall it a lot but I blame that more on the act prolite flywheel I installed. I've had passengers in the car say "I can't believe it's a 6-puck". With that said, you might be able to get away with a full face clutch like the RPS MAX Street Disc or the ACT Street Disc. All depends on how much you're going to beat on it. |

| Junior STI Driver | I am currently runninga 20g that made 378wtq, and the stock clutch is fine. Now I only do auto-x, a couple hpde events, and the drag strip a couple times. I learned how to launch on this clutch, and I will admit there have been a couple times where I have smelled the clutch when I was first learning. I read a lot and it seemed like not many people liked the spec clutchs. From everything I have seen people seemed to really like the rps and the act, which is supposed to be a knock off of the rps. I don't want to be running a full race clutch, cause I am going to be driving my car everyday. Hopefully I will be doing a lot more track events, and will probably go to the drag strip a couple times. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
