Default Installed the Cobb Shifter today with all the bushings

Went to a local shop run by subie guys. had shifter linkage bushings, front shifter bushings, rear shifter stay bushing, and transmission crossmember bushings installed along with a cobb short throw shifter.

in order to to do this install the following had to be removed so they could access the shifter and remove it from the car to put in the linkage bushings:

-top mount intercooler
-downpipe
-catback exhaust
-turbo heat shield

took off the downpipe and saw this:

The gray area is where the bellmouth isn't cut correctly and doesn't line up with the gasket. It's restricting my wastegate and explains why the tuner had to go up to 100% wastegate duty cycle to hit 20psi. We're going to port match it.

Took off the top mount intercooler and found this:

Oil dripped out of the intercooler inlet hose and is pooling up in the turbo inlet. Checked shaft play on the turbo and its still within spec after checking a few times. *wheew*

So I'll be ordering up a catch can setup monday.

As far as the shifter goes...it's awesome, its double adjustable so i can adjust height and throw. It goes up to a 40% reduction and is now positioned about an inch more to the rear than it was before. The effort and NVH has increased with the stiffer bushings, but its a joy to drive now. It's still quiet enough to be drowned out by road noise and the stereo.

its a Helix downpipe from the first or second batch back when it was either Helix or Cobb.

I was not impressed when I saw this, to say the least.

Just what bushings were you putting in? I put in a full set with my COBB ss and didn't have to take any of that off.

Sounds like they ran up your labor bill if you ask me. Was your wastegate actually hitting the bottom of that bellmouth? I'd bet on portmatching not making a difference if the WG wasn't actually hitting it.

you just need to take the cat section off of the car.. but maybe since you have aftermarket dp, they had to take that off

front stay, rear stay, shift linkage bushings, tranny crossmember bushings. the downpipe was blocking access to get the shifter out. the catback was removed for another reason, unrelated.

it added 20 minutes to the install, it wasn't hard at all.

my labor bill was $120 for all of this. I wasn't complaining, its a PITA to install all of this stuff.

I don't believe its hitting, but you can clearly see where the standard downpipe gasket which came with the helix downpipe does not match the cut of the bellmouth. if that isn't a restriction, i'd be shocked. completely shocked, especially considering the WGDC tables that were done on my protune. (100%) Obviously, it is a restriction.
