I'm in the market for a full Ti exhaust, primarily for the weight savings - secondary for the power gains. Right now I'm leaning towards the Invidia Cat back (I want to fully meet any emissions requirements to keep it as a daily driver), and I don't want anything too obnoxious for a residential neighborhood. Any other feedback?? I tried a search but didn't find any conclusive details...

Default Alarm accessory wiring question

Run a search on Nasioc in the 2.5 liter forum. There was a good long post about them (specificallly geared towards the JIC's). If you want a quiet one, I know there is a quiet JIC exhaust (with twin tip... the single tip is the loud one).

Oh, and are you referring only to the catback? Because as far as I know, there are no titanium DP's.

a catback should not affect emissions. they are all supposed to be pretty loud. jic, invidia, greddy, magnaflow
because they are all three inch systems. i went for the jic, still waitin for it to come in

It is the JIC one. We had one Evo customer pay its expensive price and put it on, and he was very happy with it. I don't remember the exact weight savings, but it was very signifcant.

Thanks for the feedback guys; FT, how did that Evo sound with the JIC 505? For weight savings I've heard 15-20 lbs. for other Ti catbacks. Sadly this comes at a price...

Anyone know the lightest titanium catback system? Is it the Greddy?

I was with another Evo customer just today at the autocrosses that had the full JIC, he said it weighed 9 lbs He did the installation himeself and his mechanic (he is a superbike racer).

It sounded truly wonderful, slightly on the louder side, not obtrusive; very throtty.

ft or anybody else, i am a bit confused about some things I was seeing on the net when figuring out the exhaust system.

Is there a downpipe, a mid pipe, a center pipe, and the can for the entire exhaust system flowing from the turbo back correct?

Or is there the DP, Mid/Center Pipe, and the can?

I just talked with JIC to get some dyno data and so forth...

The Ti system is from DP-back only and does not include the DP. Also, they don't have any sound clips or dyno chart regarding the system. So, overall, it is just word of mouth

I know that some Evo customers reported back 20 to 30 hp gain, but I cannot say that any of them had a clean stock engine. The minimum was DynoFlash ECU upgrades and air filters were involved as well. So, it is hard to say what level of performance the JIC unit really provided.

Would you pay their price just on great sound and light weight? Hmmm, it is tough for me to decide, I am just a huge fan of Cobb (even though we get better discounts from JIC ) when it comes to engine modifications, so I really am not impartial here

I think most systems are the same the difference in HP cannot be greater than a few HP if they are all the same size with the same mandarel piping.

However, I am curious about reported gains on the STI by changing everything after the DP. I think JIC does not want to report data because the gains of a catback system are inextricably linked with an upgraded dp. The funny thing is that JIC does not sell an upgraded DP with its system. The kicker is that without an upgraded DP, the JIC exhaust has been reported to rub and make contact with other underbody parts of the STI--the driveshaft support bracket if I recall correctly.

I have no idea if this is true, but one STI user selling his exhaust system did disclaim this before I actually engaged in the purchase.
