Default STi Transmission Mount Question

Okay, so i bought the STi Group N Transmission mount from a dealer. when i open the box at home i see a mount with a solid center and a hole on each side. no special markings (STi or Grp N or anything).

So i call my mechanic up and i'm like "are you sure this is the heavy mount?" and he says "yeah, it should have a solid center, the stock one has a hole on either side and one in the middle." so... when i finally lifted the car up I see the mount on the car looks exactly the same as the one in the box i just bought. solid center etc.

the mount i bought doesn't "feel" particularly "hard" (not sure if it should).

so my question is, did they upgrade the 07 tranny mount or did they sell me the wrong part?

let me know, i dont' want to keep a 90$ paperweight if i don't need it. thanks

try to twist the mount..
You should not be able to twist it at all.
it is soooooooooooo hard/solid.. that it doesn`t even feel like rubber

That's correct...the stock mount is rather easy to twist (grab the two studs and twist) whereas the Group N won't hardly budge. Otherwise they look the same.

What was the part number on the box of the mount you purchased??

This is what the Group N mount looks like

If yours has holes on each side in the rubber, it's the stock mount.
