| Amateur STI Driver | I am about to install a TXS turbo back exhaust and was wondering if I absolutely need to port the turbo to avoid boost creep. I have read that some peole say yes and some people say no. Also wondering if a UTEC will work in place of porting the turbo when it comes out of course. Any input is appreciated This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

There has been a lot of discussion about this. You might want to get familiar with some it. Here is a place to start. I'm not trying to convince you either way. There is just different ways to go about it. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ht=boost+creep |

| Spec C Club | I talked with Cobb Tuning today on this very issue and I am told that wastegate polishing only targets the sympthom, the real problem is in the ECU and that needs to be updated. We are not even going to put out Cobb's Turboback system on sale at this time until they come out with the ECU update within the next 6-8 weeks. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2003 Trader Rating: (1) | i thought the real ineffieciemcy was the fact the wastegate was too small to accomodate the gasses trying to escape? I was told that an external wastegate of a bigger size would work but engine management would only open it sooner and not deal with theissue of the volume....no? have i been lied too? |
