IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2006 Trader Rating: (3) | I have searched for this on here and Google with no results. I am wanting to know what speed an 05 Sti would do at 7000 rpm in 6th with the stock wheel and tire setup. (Obviously speed governor removed.) Also, what RPM are you at when you hit the speed governor? Thanks This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

| Junior STI Driver | Out in the midwest through New Mexico my 05STI was at 6800-6900rpm on the stock tach. We were GPS'd on our boost phones at 168mph but was probably right at 170mph as it doesn't get updated every second. This was also with 3 people in the car including myself. |

Nope as my post stated above I was at 319whp during that run. I would think the a well tuned stage 2 set-up should have no problems getting up to that speed, probably just a tad bit slower then having an upgraded turbo.

Once I get my AP next week, I'll see what I top out at on the autobahn. In a few more weeks I'll go to stage 2 and do the same run. It certainly doesn't take long to hit the limiter stock, that's for sure. I'll video it too. I was just reading the aero thread in the nasioc motorsports forum and there is a chart that estimates HP and top speed in an STi....don't remember what was needed for 170 mph. Todd

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (1) | I achieved 172.9 in the standing mile during the www.texasmile.com event. I was making 426awhp on a dyno-dynamic with pump gas and alk injection. When I went througn the timing lights, my tach showed 7.1-7.2k. When you figure gearing and redline, your supposed to be able to attain 176, as mentioned above. |
