but the dealer will take it for a week and strip the transmission and could possibly blame everything on my mods! ive heard they dont care about mods much tho i got an oil change and it was fine.

and i looked around and found that our cars do NOT come oem with extra-s oil.

also, i checked my dipstick on the tranny and it was just a tiny HAIR above the LOW line mark. so basically low. could this be the prob?

i checked it cold after sitting overnight. ill check it again now its hot.

there was a HUGE thread similar to this on NASIOC that i followed from a link somehwere on these forums, i can't seem to find it now though! it was pretty elaborate and MANY people resolved all grinding probs 100% after switching to the extra-s gear oil they got in a 5 gal. 50lb can off the net.

I'd take it in and tell the service dept about your problem. maybe suggest they top it off with extra-s. BE SURE they do so.

BE SURE they note you are already having problems shifting in your service records.

Hey Clint, I really like that attitude. Keep on with it, you're really a great resource to us.

any other recommendations (besides the 1 provided link) as to where we may be able to purchase the motul tranny fluid? Its the 75w-90 motul 300 gear, correct?

Any links / reputable vendors would be appreciated!

I first used Amsoil SVG but after a few hundred miles I developed a nasty 4th gear grind, mostly upon decel and always after it got hot. Other than that, it performed wonderful. BTW I have never grinded 4th or had any problems prior to the fluid change. Just threw in some Motul and have been beating the crap out of the car trying to get it to grind again and nothing. Motul has proven itself to me to beat out the SVG. My 2 cents.

I just reread his post. I think he was getting the grinding on amsoil, and the motul fixed it.
