| Professional STI Driver | so is it recommended to pull the pan and flush out the old fluid when switching to a new brand (and if it is, is there something better to use than acetone?). when summer rolls around I'm considering switching to the motul - my transmission is actually quite smooth at 47k but this would be good preventative maintenace |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (21) | Little update for you guy.... I flushed the crap 75w80 poop in my trans from the dealer (running it since like august!) and they overfilled it by at least 0.5L. Anyway in the cold the trans felt like total crap, 1st to 2nd would sometimes (cold) grind and everything felt horrible in the cold. So, today I flushed and refilled with the Motul 300. Instantly the trans felt 100% better.... it is amazing now, great results. Cold it feels great, its vastly better than what crap was in it earlier. I am very happy with it. I put probably about 35 or so miles on it since the flush and I am loving the difference. I have no complaints right now, I would recommend it... |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (30) | Clint, I am in the same position as Alex (Rac1000 aka Skreetch). I am between Motul Gear 300 vs. Amsoil SEVERE GEAR 75W-90 (SVG). You would think that Motul would be better, no? I run their RBF600 for my brakes. Let me know what you think. |

| Authorized Vendor | I have not tried the amsoil yet so I can't offer a comparison. I will say this - we tried it out on the RSX type S with the 6MT. That tranny did not like the Motul Gear 300. Bummer, but then again it can't be all things to all people. I will say this - my 4th gear synchro grind has returned. Kind of a bummer, but I do truly think it's worn out. The grind is not anywhere near as bad as what I had before, and I still feel this is a good lube for our trannies. This will be going back in after I do the swap to fix that grind. |
