Default shifter problem

i've had the kartboy ss kit for a while and it seems like it need new lube job or something... when i move the shifter left and right while its at neutral position, it would squeak. it does it sometimes and sometimes it goes away...

is this normal or am i just paranoid?

it's probably not the shifter if self, most likely it's the lockout cable rubbing against the shifter shaft. just make sure the zip tie for the cable and shaft is really tight and make sure the zip tie for the cable and the shifter stay below the car is also tight.

make sure you have some grease packed down in the cup that the ball of the shifter fits into.

that'll work fine, but dry out over time. We use wheel bearing grease as we have a ton of it sitting around.

i don't know if mine's hitting the drive shaft but whenever I throttle in 4th gear, it makes noise... is this the sound of cable hitting the drive shaft? i accidently forgot to ziptie the cable to the stay rod
