IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | In doing some searching I noticed that a lot of older model WRX owners and even some 2004 WRX owners were removing their stock intake silencer for better sound and air flow. Is this something that can be done on an STi? Or has anyone done this and know if it actually does make for better air flow? This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2003 Trader Rating: (0) | Last time I checked the thread on ClubWRX, Dan @ Godspeed had dynoed a stock STi @ 250 whp. 255 whp with IC spray. 258 whp without spray and after removing the silencer. I don't know about those numbers at all, but I trust the guys with the dynos. Removal is pretty simple and easy...when you get it out, you'll be amazed at how huge the silencer is. RN |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2003 Trader Rating: (1) | Oldal***uy, I dont see how slightly modifying the air intake would void a warranty....it just flows better,,,the computer will learn to deal...17500 miles no trouble yet...but the dealer would have you think that any mod you make will void,,,,such bs |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2003 Trader Rating: (0) | I second ,no wait third, the motion that the Rallitek elbow is the way to go. No voided warranty, no modifying the stock pieces, and can always go back stock if need be. easy mod! :P |

| The Next Petter Solberg | i took out the ram air scoop and the resonator/snorkus. went to home depot, purchased a 3" 90 DEGREE elbow. fed it thru airbox and into fender. cai w/ stock box stock bypass valve is much more audible |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2003 Trader Rating: (1) | i cant see how it can void anything since all your doin is removing a silencer...it does nothing but silence the air intake...find a new dealer...or better yet scrap the dealer find a good shop This ad is not endorsed by this member.
