| Amateur STI Driver | Driving in to work today, I hit small dip + pothole going like 15-20mph. Shorty after I hear a horrible rattling sound from rear, and a loud grinding sound. The rattling went away and the grinding has gotten quieter but it's still there. Once I got to the parking garage, I looked under the rear, endlinks look fine, exhaust is not hitting anything, everything else looks normal as far as I can tell. Since there is definte metal to metal grinding noise I am wondering what I should do. Drive to the dealership, or have them come pick it up? 06 STI 5,700 miles TBE and AP2 Thanks in advance. The subsequent (and now quieter) grind would be explained by the rock wearing against the rotating piece (rotor? ). All of this is speculative, of course. |
