My shifter in 2nd 4th or 6th looks like it's in neutral and you actually have to grind down the metal plate that surrounds the shifter assembley in the top left corner. If you do not do this you won't be able to put the car in 1st or 3rd, thats how short/different the throws are. Definetly much more "effort" in shifting but I also installed the bushings the same time and they're great. No shift play at all and very solid feel. You get use to it. !
I have mine adjusted fo rteh shortest possible throws and have also ground the surround. After adding the COBB shift bushing and tranny mount...whoah...awesome.. stuff

I installed the TiC Holy Shift Kit this weekend which include the K4rt3oy shifter and bushings. While the throw wasnt shortened by a huge amount, it does feel about as good as I imagine it could.

side note-kartboy ss is pretty short IMO compared to stockers.. Throws are much shorter and if you installed the bushings while at it, the throws are pretty stiff. Maybe it's pretty stiff because im not used to it the throws are *click* *click*
