most gears are shorter for more acceleration not top end. ehy do you want to go 200mph? well it would defenately be cool, but is there another reason besides the wow factor?

Well i am sure that with enough cash you could get someone to build you a custom gear set but why? The stock gears will let you go 172mph.

Thanks for your replies guys. I'm from the Philippines and our STi here can do only 160mph and I want to race the Porsches here on our highway. We don't really get busted for speeding in our highway here, and just in case we get busted, our legal fee is only US$11.

I checked www.xtrac.com but I have no idea if they make custom gearbox for Subaru Sti.

I think you'll need a lot more than just gears to be racing Porsches at those speeds. Our CD and general shape of the car does not lend itself well to highspeed runs. I doubt our wing is optimized for those speeds either; meaning it probably creates more drag than its worth north of 160.

You'll probably need a decent amount of power to hit 200mph in a reasonable amount of time. You'll probably also want to focus on reducing lift/adding downforce at the front of the car. I would want as much traction as I could get at those speeds. Good luck...

keep in mind that power required to go 200mph is an exponential function, meaning it theoretically takes 250hp to go 150, 300 to go 175, 450 to go 200 (those numbers aren't right, but you get the idea)

Good luck!

Yea, you're going to need a lot more than just different gears. But good luck anyway and keep us posted.

Thanks guys!

I have a copy of turbo magazine, Jan 2006, the front page is a subaru sti with 720whp. I wish we can do that too here. I know a local shop here, they were able to produce 650whp on evo8. I'm also doing research about adding lead to gasoline. We can take off our cat here without getting into too much trouble with the law so i'm planning to remove the cat to help produce more power.

I'm thinking of putting these upgrades

http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/wr...roll/turbo.htm
http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/wr...dr725_fmic.htm

and some internal parts from www.cosworth.com and also the needed fuel system. I just don't know if the aps parts will fit the 2006 Sti model.
Any suggestion in power and drivetrain is very welcome, I hope you guys can give me advise before i decide what brands/parts to put. Thanks and Merry Christmas to all
