For my car 2nd is only a pain in the ass when the car is dead cold. It loosens up after a minute of driving.

Dropping from 2nd to 1st isn't hard on the gearbox if you've got patience. You can't just jam it in, you have to be gentle with it. Just apply firm pressure and respect the fact that the syncros have to work and engage just fine.

I can pretty much row through all the gears without any problems up or down at any speed in any gear. If you are having problems and the trans is warm it would seem to me that there is an issue.

I dont have any problems going 3-2 if I rev match, 2-1 I can either rev match and press it slowly into gear or double-clutch if I need to get there quickly...

I never have a problem....I try this technique when I first get in the car and start it up, it only takes about 5 minutes or so. I kind of go throught the gears while holding the clutch pedal in, clutch out when out of gear. i am not running through the gears as fast as I can when i do this either.

1-2 clutch out 1-2-1-2-3 clutch out 1-2-1-2-3-1-2-3-4....and so on
