| Amateur STI Driver | I have a 06 STi with relatively few miles (~4000). I've noticed since early on I would get an occasional clutch grinding noise when depressing the clutch. However, this only occurs from 1st to 2nd gear. Here is the scenario: I am in first gear and press down on the clutch. I hear a brisk grinding noise (almost like dogteeth grinding / crunch noise -- it is fairly loud). I proceed to shift from first to second without any other noise. I don't think it has anything to do with the syncros, because I haven't even touched the shifter yet when the noise occurs. It really only happens as I am depressing the clutch. Anyone know if this is normal or what might be causing it? It happens maybe around 5% of the time I shift from 1st to 2nd. Thanks. This ad is not endorsed by this member.
