I have been noticing that my clutch's friction point does not feel as sure as it used to. In other words, if I easily let the clutch out,(baby like), the car feels like it wants to stall. This is only in 1st gear. My car only has 25.5k miles on it and 60-70% of my driving is highway.

check to see if it is slipping but putting in in 5th or 6th and see if hte rpms fly up and the speedo doesnt.

I've noticed that when I accelerate the revs do go up after I take my foot off the gas, a little. Someone else said that this is normal though, as our motors are anticipating the upshift.

thats different. Go onto the highway, put the car in 5th or 6th at low rpm and floor it. If the rpm's go up but you speed doesn't increase you need a new clutch.

...also, if your clutch was screwed your car wouldn't feel like it wanted to stall. The STi clutches do loosen up over time and will engage a little higher as the clutch parts wear etc. As was already mentioned, just get on the highway, and floor it in 5th/6th at a low RPM for 5-10 seconds. If the RPM needle jumps, your clutch is slipping.

my clutch went out at around 45,000 miles - and treated my car like a baby 99% of the time - if you've done any hard launches or clutch slips, then you have a chance at wearing out the clutch quicker. I think that 25k has been what a lot of the autox/drag people are getting, or less.

Yeah I think my clutch is just getting a little slutty is all. It just is not as "tight" as it used to be. The friction point is 1st is just a little more vague. I did the 5th/6th gear trick and it is finr.
