IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I have been noticing that my clutch's friction point does not feel as sure as it used to. In other words, if I easily let the clutch out,(baby like), the car feels like it wants to stall. This is only in 1st gear. My car only has 25.5k miles on it and 60-70% of my driving is highway. The STi clutches do loosen up over time and will engage a little higher as the clutch parts wear etc. As was already mentioned, just get on the highway, and floor it in 5th/6th at a low RPM for 5-10 seconds. If the RPM needle jumps, your clutch is slipping. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (2) | my clutch went out at around 45,000 miles - and treated my car like a baby 99% of the time - if you've done any hard launches or clutch slips, then you have a chance at wearing out the clutch quicker. I think that 25k has been what a lot of the autox/drag people are getting, or less. |
