Default STI SS Sloppiness

My '07 STI ltd has the sti short shifter. I noticed that the shift from 2nd to 3rd is often very sloppy. When i shift it tries to push me to 5th instead of 3rd. Is this a break-in thing? If not, is there a stock subi fix for this or only aftermarket. I've noticed that its been getting better, but still not perfect.

I have the STi ss on my 05, and if you want that crisp feeling, like the shifter clicks into gear, go to www.turninconcepts.com and get the "holy shift kit". It amazed me how such an inexpensive mod can transform my car, I could shift much faster, more precisely, and it just makes me want to shift more. Basically, it replaces the stock soft bushings with fairly stiff ones. You might notice some NVH, but a minimal amount. I think the throw length with the STi ss is perfect, I just wanted a better feel so I bought these bushings.

Be warned though, stiffer bushings mean a little more effort to get into gear, but for me, being able to shift how I can now is well worth a little more effort.
