Default Christmas cometh early (Cusco Mounts)

So my Cusco mounts finally arrived:

I can't wait to get these puppies installed. I think I could do the tranny mount myself but after reading the install guide on ScoobyMods, I'm a little apprehensive about doing the motor mounts. I think I might have to *gasp* have my local dealership install them *gasp* I'm on good terms with the service manager and he said it should only take 45 minutes to an hour, tops.

I'm going to try and take some videos/sound clips pre- and post-install to see if I can help convey just how stiff these mounts are (i.e. NVH, motor movement, etc.)

So for those of you that have them, tell me again how much you love them...

I have an install question. On the i-club install guide it mentions that you have to trim the motor mount plate(s) so that they don't rub against the cusco mount. For those of you that installed your own, did you have to do this or can they be left unaltered?

Thanks.

No you have to cut them.....Otherwise, under hard deflections, the mount will indeed strike the plate.

Yeah, the NHV practically disappeared. Everybody that rides with me thinks differently though . I love them. I hope the shop i had install them didn't forget to cut the brackets. I'm sure they did. What are the symtoms of them rubbing against the mounts?

Hey Wes. Sounds like this may be your problem.

The install is really not that bad. The worst part was removing/reinstalling the TMIC to release the pitch mount. I have swivel head gear wrenches and read the intructions beforehand and got it done myself. The mounts fall out the front when you get them loose. Really not bad-just takes patience.

I drove VtecSTI's car yesterday and man, the Cuscos are vastly different than Group-N mounts. With the Cuscos, you feel every valve open and every other thing going on in the drivetrain. Definitely king of NVH fo sho!

I had to cut mine. The inside of the mount was only 1/4'' away from the mounting plate. Im sure on hard launches the mounts will deflect about that much potentially striking the platee.

I cut them off. I don't think there is room with the cuscos for the sheilds.
