********************DECISION**********************

Today, the ONE MONTH anniversary of me trying to get my damn 4th gear grind fixed, the SOA representative called me today at approx 1130AM pacific time to inform me that my 4th gear grind problem will be covered under warranty. Tranny should be arriving at Long Beach tomorrow and by the end of the week I should have my car again.

Now I need help, I no longer want the car due to SOAs customer approach on blaming it without checking it on driver abuse or whatever their lame excuse.............I think they just try to weed out the real problems from the 'intentional' problems. I say 'intentional' in quotes because there isnt really a definition of driver abuse.....its all subjective to ones beliefs.

So, Ive had it with SOAs BS on warranty issues. NOOOOO Im not giving them another chance so B4 you guys attack me READ this sentence again.

laaaaaater

Yeah, I hate the guilty until proven innocent mentality these days. I guess you are heading towards a Lexus dealership...

why did'nt you just post under your original thread, oh well. i'm a bit taken back by your decision however. getting rid of your STi even though its been covered under warranty and you're getting a new transmission. i will say THANK YOU however, as you have officially done every STi owner a favor by setting a precedent regarding any future problems we may have regarding the 6MT. good luck with your future automotive exploits.

good luck finding an equal performance car.... what are you planning on going with next? I mean, you finally get SOA to give you a NEW tranny and now you're ditching the car? Thats rediculous... what you think all the other companies out there are just going to roll over for you? I hope you dont have any problems with your next vehicle or you may just decide to never drive again at this rate...

Hmm, me wonders if this is a EVO driver trying to make the STI look bad. Perfect post to point out why the any car is better than a STI... Myself and many others have had nothing but good luck with our subie dealerships. Oh ya, and the trainy's aren’t worth ****... that is why my brother in-law has 200k+ miles on his Forrester with nothing but regular maintenance.

what proof would you like me to post/email/mail ?!?

ohh, I know: Im gonna pick up my car TODAY at Timmons SUbaru at LongBeach, CA.....evening so if you want you can meet me there or something.

Yahh, Ive been thinking about the evo but all this time Ive been without m car Ive been reading on the evo forums and people are just like having issues with MITSU on warranty claims.....worse than SOA :x

Same performance........I doubt it; Ive been checking out M3s but shiaaaaaaaat Id have to pay around 20k more

Im just confused; I might just get a truck afterall.

CLARIFICATION: I didnt get a new tranny, all they did was replace 3rd and 4th gear synchros as well as the hub bearings. I never complained about 3rd gear tho so I dont know why they replaced it. 3rd was the most butterish shift of all.

dude, no offence, just seemed really weird that you'd give up a car like the STI. I can understand that it was fustrating for you though.

Car companies are all pains in the asses when it comes to repairs that they have to pay for. I've had good experiences thus far on the STI, but who knows in the future.

Glad to hear your happy again! Ya, once you get it down, shifts can be very nice (oh, and a working tranny helps) I've found just putting the clutch down about half way between shifts gets the best results.

This is true. It's kinda hit or miss with service and dealerships. Some dealerships are great, others are criminals, and this is gonna be the way it is no matter what you're driving. The only solution is to get a Toyota or something that won't break in the first place, and that no dealership is going to suspect you abused or modified. It sucks, I know.
