Did my rear axles freeze?

Last night I was tearing ass in some ice and slush which covered my car basically. This morning when I went to back out of my covered parking spot the car was stuck and I had to give it a good amount of gas and I heard this cracking sound come from the back of the car. I'm wondering if the slushy stuff froze up on my axles or something. Car was perfectly fine after backing out.

interesting - don't know what that would be for sure, but there was a hella of a lot of ice out there, so maybe

i get that too when its wet.. i think its the breakpads locking with the rotor.

Yes, that's what it was.

Jeez Kurt you stupid n00b, you've never had your breakpads freeze/rust/bind to your rotors due to water getting in there?

(It happened to me last weekend after washing the car and leaving it parked with rusty rotors).

Same here when is wet, doesn't even have to be snowing or icy.

It's the shoes for the handbrake freezing inside the drum. Happens to me all the time.

And apparently I've never had windage or oil starvation whatever you wanna call it.

Psh....put it this way, this car will be on it's last leg before I get rid of it and I plan to drive it hard and have fun until then.
