Strange sound coming from the rack and pinion??

I noticed in my car that some times (once a week) when turning the steerinf wheel at alow speed like at a stop sign or entering into my garage I hear a noise from the steering wheel/rack and pinion. Souns simmilar like when the car has little power steering fluid (but it is OK).

It is not the sound from the DCCD.. it is different. I dont know if it could be from the front differential. I dont know how the front diff. on the STI's works since I came from a 2005 WRX.

How far do you have the wheels turned when it happens? Does it start when they are all way to the lock or just turned slightly?

Just a little bit usually to the right side.

What ever came of this? Is it like a dragging noise? Kind of like the noise when you apply the brakes when they are cold?

My car either started doing this today or I noticed it. PS fluid is fine, as is the tranny oil for me.

What happened?
