I just popped by xxtuning to get my good weather shoes put back on.

The shop's STi was dyno'd this morning with headers ONLY (all else stock)and the results were, if i remember correctly:

+16 hp
+18 ft/lb torque

pretty nice numbers, i thought for a 450 dollar mod.

Next comes the exhaust plus headers. If I find out numbers, I'll pass them along.

Yeager

ps thermo's a tool and likes to be whipped with al dente spaghetti

Default Finally drove an Evo!!Impressions & questions on modding

??? whats your deal thermo? I've seen Dan pull 20wtq outof these with a maxxed out turbo... getting that much on a stock turbo with no other mods wont be that big of a deal. Im goin to call up Al @ XXtuning and have him send me the dyno sheets as well... waht car dont you get nearly ~20hp from headers when you're in the 300hp range+??

That is correct guys.. The BONE STOCK STI, with only our XXTuning Header did make that much power...
I will post to dyno sheet tomorrow..

Our next test is the downpipe test.. We put the stock headers back on and were trying different downpipes to see how it effects power!

i dont see how its hard to grasp thermo, I am not trying to condemn you or anything, but I mean just calling someone's claims of 16whp and 18wtq from headers AND uppipe bs thats just kinda wrong, as why would he even post that if its not true?... Anyways... you will have your proof soon enough and if you're interested in buying one let me know!! Thanks!

Also what I meant was... dan I believe had a ton of bolt on parts and had emanage already installed and had the engine tuned for performance... then strapping on a header and uppipe (after being tuned) you arent going to see as big of a gain as you would on an untuned car (as the car isnt maxxed out or "put to its potential" yet). Dan said you basically werent going to get anymore hp out of the car (since his was in the 310whp range) , but still managed to get a big torque increase...
