IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | And couldn't be happier. I have used Amsoil synthetics in my race vehicles for years. Back when I had the RX7 in the early 80's, I changed the trans & diff to Amsoil, and picked up 8 mpg in the winter. Now that I have 7,500 on the STI, and winter is coming, I thought I'd do the changeover. The Shifting is so much smoother it can't be believed. All the notchiness is gone, shifts with 2 fingers. I also know that the synthetic deals with heat much better than regular gear lube, and the syn poor to 60 f below zero. Best investment I have made in the car. http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/svg.aspx This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

Everyone loves synthetic oil in the trans when they first put it in, I even noticed a positive difference when I put fresh dino oil in my trans, but let us know how it is 5k+ miles later. Problems usually come up after a while with synthetic in the trans, not within the first couple hundred miles. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | I've had Synthetic in the engine at the 1K mile mark and in the diffs / tranny at the 30K mile mark. So far no problems. I just switched from Redline to Amsoil 2K miles ago at the 60K mark for everything and the tranny seems to shift alot smoother. |

hmmm...thats strange because COBB highly recommends redline MT-90: "Great balance of friction and lubrication. This is a good choice for a street/auto-x car. Highly Recommended." Here's the link: http://www.cobbtuning.com/tech/gearoil/index.html | |
