Default Short throw for 06 STI

Hello all, I think i my first mod for the STI is going to be a a short throw shifter. The most common recommendation seems to be either the Kartboy shifter with the bushings or getting the TiC supershifter set. I wanted to ask you guys if there are any other options which is should consider here. I found some stuff by Perrin, Cobb and this one Agency Power. http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/p...oducts_id/6719

I am trying to find out as much as i can about the performance of the other shifters but any input from you guys would be greatly appreciated !!!

Also, with the TiC Super shifter set, do i need to worry about affecting the NVH levels in the car? I drive about 60 miles everyday so that is a big consideration for me.

Hope this is the right forum for the thread.

Thank you all

I love my COBB double adjustable... you can pick how high you want it as well as how short of throw you want. I don't think any of the others are adjustable. The urethane front bushing added a bit of noise. I even went so far as to use sound deadener on mine

I highly recommend the TIC "super shifter" kit.
It's the Kartboy lever with all the replacement bushings you'll need.

The only NVH that i've experienced is increased gear whine, but it sounds cool to me and you get used to it quick
Also, the little bit of extra noise is well worth it.
Everything is rock solid with the kit installed and the throws are much shorter

Yea, no need to rush more power.
Once you start it never stops anyway

The TIC with our shifter setup is Yummy!

Run away from the AP shifters. they are a poor knock off of our shifter.

I think i will be putting an order for the super shifter set in the coming week .. just need to have the paycheque come in.

Also, does the stock STI shift knob fit on the Kartboy shifter ?

Yes, the stock shift knob works with the Kartboy SS.

No matter what lever you choose you will want to upgrade at least some, if not all, of the bushings.

Question

Whats the diff between the stock short throw and these aftermarket ones? All 06 come with short throw stock so why change?
