I have 3500 miles in my STI and I just checked the oil and it was nearly empty, I added 2.5 quarts of 5w-30.
I tell you guys I was very upset and I don't know if my car is burning oil or if it was not filled at the dealer.
Anyone had this problem?

Yes, don't know what the issue is but you have to constantly monitor your oil levels.

Default XXtuning and XXtuning headers review

This appears to be somewhat common. My car is at 8500 miles and has used about 1/2 quart in the last 2000 miles. However, my STi is using less oil as my miles increase.

Thank you guys for answering. It appears that the STI does burn/consume oil, I am just worried about running low, but I guess I have to check it every week.

I had to add a quart yesterday. I'm at near 6K miles and did my first oil change at around 3500. Running Mobil 1 - 5w30.

I'm curious as to what your break-in philosophy was with your STi?

I'm trying to figure out what people's experiences have been based on how they broke their cars in....

My baby is tighter than a frog's butt when it comes to oil consumption. Did 8, 50 second Auto-X runs at about 100 miles the first week. Needed the seat time for the hillclimb that I ran at 1,200 miles. I do need to get in for my 15,000 mile oil change.

ahahah sheesh, i personally must of broken in my car pretty well, my first oil chnage was at a late 3500 miles which im upset about, but i stayed under 5 grand for the first 1k except a few times of revving high, but i was on and off the gas so it felt like a surging motion. I was told to do this with my bike as well, and that thing is hella fast now too. But thats my break in! =)

i check mine every 1k miles...

right now, i'm about oil change time, using the 3k mark per change. odo reads around 9100 miles.

it does seem to burn more than my previous wrx...

i'm thinking of going to synth juice vs dino next change...
