| Grassroots STI Racer | 250 miles into the 400 mile break-in with the RPS max series pressure plate and organic disk clutch. I got the pressure plate that is capable of holding 500 ft.bls of torque at the flywheel. I have been getting used to the early clutch engagement and the stiffness of the pedal compared to stock. There is some clutch chatter if I do not give it enough gas causing the car to shudder a little; meaning that I have to give it more gas than stock given the strength of the pressure plate. From what I have heard this is normal with a pressure plate that is much stronger; there is some driver to car adjustment that I will have to get used to, as with every mod. Overall I am very happy with being able to do this myself, with the help of my friend and his garage full of tools. You name it he has it. I cannot compare this to a 6 puck beacuse I have only driven one with the 6 puck which was RWD and I personally have no need for a 6 puck at this point. I will have a better more conclusive review of what the clutch is capable of tomorrow night after the break-in is complete. From what I have experienced so far the clutch will hold and wants to hold no matter what. More to come tomorrow. christian This ad is not endorsed by this member. | Grassroots STI Racer | I love 6-puck clutches because there is no break-in period and they will hold no matter what. I think my next clutch will be a 6-puck or when I am able to devote some money to another car. My friend had the RPS 6-puck on his TT 300zx....man that thing was stiff. We used to joke about getting a gym membership just to do leg press for his left leg so that his leg would not get tired. What strength pressure plate did you get? |

| Grassroots STI Racer | The clutch has been through its break-in period. I did a few of launches which varied from 5000 to 6500 rpm and pulls starting in gears 1 through 5. I slip the clutch because it is smarter and cheaper and easeier to replace a clutch than a transmission. It held very nicely all the way through. I am concerned that clutch delay valve will cause extra wear. So I am going to do the delete in a couple of weeks. I am happy that I had the stock flywheel resurfaced rather than getting a lightened one. |
