IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | Thats surface rust not even Grade A rust. When it gets to grade C then you may want to worry wtf is going on but that wont happen with this steel |

| Junior STI Driver | are you talking about the long piece of metal that slips into where the gear box is? if so - that is comes short of the stocker. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2005 Trader Rating: (23) | That's the part I'm talking about. The length that is inserted into the transmission should be the same. Do not worry about the amount left exposed on the ACPT shaft vs. the stock shaft. The depth of engagement is the critical amount. Once this is established, you can check for the gap if any between the flanges. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 Trader Rating: (1) | So are all the "new" shafts being delivered have no balance issues now? This is what is still basically holding me up! |

You may not need this at all. Check the engagement measurement to be sure. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2005 Trader Rating: (23) | There is not a balance issue. The shafts are all balanced before sale. My theory after selling a lot of the driveshafts and dealing with a few apparent balance problems is that on some vehicles there is a resonance problem. There is no rhyme or reason for which vehicle will sometimes exhibit this problem. |

| Junior STI Driver | its about 1.5 inches shorter. im driving around with it now - and it feels good - no vibrations at all under 100 km/h. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
