I know it is SM for sure but I don't know abut BSP and STU.

There is no mention and if you can use it in STU I will buy it now that is for sure.

Who did you ask? I mean it is not a big deal since I only really do local stuff but I would like to not cheat and think that is why I am spanking everyone lol.

I just asked one of the guys who was doing the registration stuff for the local chapter. But he didn't sound too sure of himself (maybe he was filling in for someone) so I wouldn't take my (or his) word for it. I'll know for sure next week - first time competing here after the DS install. All of the autox sessions I did before were more informal practice sessions with local clubs in CA... so I didn't have to worry about what class I was in.

I am probably asking an ignorant question but do you get put into a different class when you put on a light weight flywheel or lighter wheels and brake rotors or strip the interior of your car to make it lighter? i am only asking cuz idk. If you are put into a different class beacuse of it, which one is it cuz im sure it would be the same class for the the driveshaft as well.

The changes are very specific. Lighter wheels don't matter as long as they are stock size. Stripped interior for sure and different seats yes.

Competed last week and I was, indeed in SM because of the DS. Again, they spend 5 minutes in registration trying to figure it out, then said they would get back to me. After my first run, they announced that I was in SM over the loudspeakers. To some laughter, I might add Only two other people were in SM at the event: a 240SX and a Jetta, both fairly modified. I placed 2nd right between them - after the 240 (slicks, stripped, etc.)

I think the DS mod is more suited to track days, but I still enjoy the occasional autox.

I dont know if this has been asked already, i read through all 64 pages of the old thread, and am a little tired of reading..... What is the purpose of the dust cover on the OEM shaft that is not on the ACPT shaft? And yes i know its called a "DUST-COVER" for a reason, i just dont know too much about it and why its not needed.

The tranny has a special bearing which if destroyed means you have to crack the case to fix it and the oem shaft comes with this cover. I had concerns of it but over the years no problems with anything.

I am not an expert a local mechanic told me about the bearing and thats all i know

Yep i dont think its a dust cover tho if you get under a car with stock shaft and grab it and try to slide it in and out u wont be able to get much...This is because there is a hanger bearing in between the two shafts and it really doesnt need to slide but the acpt is is one peice and needs to be able to slide in and out during operation...its normal if you ask me.

I had concerns (I am a robotic/automation technician) so I looked into it and I have no issues running it even in 2 feet of snow up here.

No. There is a seal that the transmission yoke slides into and there is no way anything will get throught that seal on the tranny. I have driven through almost every type of weather you can think of and most conditions as far as dust storms in the desert, rain, snow, gravel, it is perfectly fine and i have been running my driveshaft since 2005. It is still as good as the day i put it in.
