IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | a personal friend who used live around here calculated for me that the DS gives me a 200lb advantage under hard acceleration situation its a dynamic loss not a static loss, well it is a 14lb static loss but because its rotational it equates to 175lb under hard acceleration. Shifting is smoother, lighter, revs upto 6500+ EASY in any gear. Makes the car feel like someone uncorked its motor |

| STI Driver | The outside diameter of the shaft is 2.75" It clears everything and its recommended to remove the protection plate in the rear to avoid any rubbing issues if there is any at all. Modifications are needed to install and it takes about a half an hour if you have access to a lift. If you dont then it will take a lil longer but not much longer to install. |

| Senior STI Driver | The protection plate doesn't need to be removed. I placed 3 washers between the protection plate and x member at each bolt for extra clearance. I've had the ds installed for almost a year with the plate and I don't have the "ring" that everyone is talking about. Last edited by Deuce Cam; 09-20-2008 at 07:40 PM. |

| Junior STI Driver | iv had a look underneath, the driveshaft is in two pieces stock. theres 1 piece in the middle that the DS goes through, and then theres a piece at the end of (near back seats), that is like a metal plate over the DS (but not underneath it - in the tunnel). Is it one of them? |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2005 Trader Rating: (3) | anyone else have some vibration issues on higher speeds? mine seems to vibrate a lot at about 70+mph. i thought i was just a fluke so i just kept driving with it on to see if its a regular thing. after about a few months i does it all the time at about 70+mph... everytime. i have checked under the car and took a full inspection of the shaft, there is rubbing or marks. i am now assuming its out of balance unless it supposed to vibrate at those speeds? the vibration is pretty pronounced when it happends. its smooth 0-69mph .... then 70mph it will vibrate like a lounge chair. anything under 70 mph it feels normal. i guess the positive part is that i keeps me from speeding cause its annoying. IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2003 Trader Rating: (1) | I asked this recently when I was spectating at an autox. They searched through their rulebook for a while and settled on STU. Mods in my sig, stock engine. I've looked through the rules for myself and it's kind of hard to decipher. Plus, I mostly just do track days, so I'm not familiar with the SCCA regulations.
