It is right at the rear diff. Mine went back on without a problem, I think. I'm gonna check tonight. It's been a long time and my mind is just about shot.

When you install the driveshaft, it is the 6 bolts on the rear protection plate that you need to take off first to get to the bolts on the rear flange. After you remove the plate, you can continue with the install. That plate is the part that is not recommended to put back on; if you do this, you will avoid having the ring around the shaft about 8 inches from the rear. If you have any other questions, PM me and i will help you out.

Got my ACPT DS today, it's really sweet, what brought me the most pain was not having a 12mm wrench that's required to get the shaft off. But all is good now, and the driveshaft feels awesome.

I was really considering this purchase. I drive in 6th gear at about 3k very often on the highway for extended periods of time. Having second thoughts now.

it is not something you would have to worry about it, barely barely noticeable and you can probably send it back to ACPT for a re-balance. I did the driveshaft along with some TiC shifter bushings, so the vibration could come from that as well, so no worries.

Once you are in gear, the responds so much faster versus a flywheel will rev faster even in neutral

I have not experienced any noticable vibrations with my ACPT driveshaft. I also have TiC rear differential and outrigger bushings so they might also be the reason why I do not feel/hear vibrations.

I have noticed vibrations when going Full Throttle, haven't really gone to highway yet to check out for any vibrations, and I may remove the protection plate on the rear, as I saw some people ending up with ring around the DS.

You should not be running the protection plate for the ACPT DS.

Yup, removed the protection plate, and I saw driveshaft already developing a ring around it, though it shouldn't anymore, next week will be exciting. Thanks.

Every driveshaft shipped with a notice to remove the protection plate/bracket/cover. The envelope taped to the box had this info.It will cause a problem that ACPT will not warrranty - external damage.

Installed it without that protection plate. Thanks for that heads up SoJDM...if I didn't read that envelope...*whew*

Installed it and took her out for a good 200+ mile drive over the weekend. Smoooooth! Noticed MINOR vibrations at speeds over 100mph...but I didn't stay there too long.

Mainly cruising at 75-80mph and it was oh so smooth! 5th-6th and 6th-5th were oh so smoooooth. It almost felt like when I switched tranny fluids from stock to the Motul Gear 300.

I still have the drive shaft sitting in my room. I didn't get the chance to install it over the weekend. I'm hoping I can install it this Sunday.

These reviews are making me anxious.

I've had mine on since 12/06 and have felt the vibrations from time to time. Back then, So JDM wasn't shipping the DS with that notice of leaving the guard off. I did the install one night, drove 25 miles home noticed the vibrations, especially under heavy acceleration. Got home took off the guard, had rings, but never really had any other trouble since. The fitment is so tight throughout that any sort of inbalance (even the slightest variance) will make the DS bow slightly, which is where you get the vibration from. Nothing fatal at this point, and the car has seen speeds over 150 mph at the track repeatedly. This thing is still one of my favorite mods to date. I love this thing to death.
