Thanks Jim,

Installed yesterday about 3 hours after I got the DHL. Really nice product, shifting down from 6th to 5th was an experience went in so smooth, I felt like the first time I down shifted, it didn't go in.

Jake, now you're going to have to jack the car up at every TT and show it off.

Gonz, thats funny I'll just throw some undercarriage mirrors in the trunk.

I'm getting vibration 1st, 2nd, 3rd, about 5k RPM, what do I do? All the mounts are factory.

Update-
I've put around 20,000 miles on mine now. My two favorite things about the DS is the smoother shifts and 5th and 6th gear responsiveness.

I can't wait to put on a lighter flywheel when I upgrade the clutch to see what other improvements can be had.

Just so everyone knows who is listening to this thread, we have I think four or five in stock from an order we got from ACPT during the week.

I retorqued the bolts they were fine, but I did remove the shield at the back of the DS, vibration gone !

My two cents, when installing the CF DS just leave the shield off, unless you plan on off roading.

look at the 2 plots closely, unfortunatly on saturday the started the pull at 2k. the motor got a little loaded up BEFORE 2700rpms where the OLD plot started. i think if they had started at 2500-2700 the numbers would have been up earlier.

am reading this correctly? did the DS actually add almost 40 HP?

There was some discussion on this post a few posts below that picture, or it might have been in a different thread. But I beleieve the consesus is that a driveshaft does not really show its gains on the dyno. For example, look at the HSPN Race Car that Ben sold. In his journal he made some pretty good numbers, but nothing too insane on his protune. But, since his car weighed nearly 2700-2800 pounds, it would destroy most cars at his power levels. To see the real benefits, you look at acceleration.

Has anyone tried installing a CF DS onto a lower HP Impreza? I've read the thread but I'm not seeing anything. Thanks.

i don't really understand the question--what does the horsepower level have to do with installing a driveshaft??

there is no magical number like at 300 horsepower where you need this driveshaft-- you can install this onto your car at any power level

Sorry. I wasn't clear. I know this is the STI forum, but has anyone heard of an individual installing one onto one of the lower HP impreza's (ie N/A motor). I'm a N/A guy and this is something that was strongly recommended and I am looking into, but I was wondering if there were any N/A guys running this DS that have feedback re: power returns, etc. Being as how my car truely is a momentum car, gaining on the fly power has a huge effect on how much usable power I have. I'm trying to balance the cost/benefit of a this vs a full intake/exhaust system and hoping someone from the N/A clan has done this mod so I can get feedback regarding what they noticed power-wise.
Thanks
-Mark

this product has nothing to do with horsepower levels as to yes you can only use it when you hit a certain horsepower level in your car--it allows more of your power to be transfered to the wheels instead of being lost in the carriers bearings and heavier stock shaft--so you are not gaining any horsepower with this product you are just allowing your car to use more of what you already have

look at it this way--if your car is rated at 150hp on a stock drive shaft you may get 100hp to the wheels but with a lighter/stronger shaft your car may see 130hp to the wheels--the power has always been there it just that the stock driveshaft was using more than the carbonfiber version

whether you have a 100 horsepower car or a 1000 horsepower
