Got it installed at M&R Automotive in Menlo Park. Just a basic garage, not Subaru-specific or anything. They are 2 blocks away from my apartment, which had a lot to do with choosing them I'd give them my business again, though.

Drove around for the hell of it after work and I can definitely feel the difference in power delivery the more I rip through the gears. I had a couple "whoa buddy, calm down" moments - it's addictive. But I expect that on some level I'm trying to justify spending $1k on a part.

I am getting a really bad vibration from my newly installed acpt shaft (especially around 70+) so I ran the car on the dyno while I was laying under it and there is not anything the shaft is hitting had all the guys at the local shop check it as well and we cant see anything... whats the problem? I dont want another bad shaft they already sent me the wrong one and took three months to get it here.

The reason the vibration scares me is I only use my car at the track... so it sees 80+ constantly with pulls up to 160...

Yes, that's just crazy....

As for the DS, have you contacted ACPT about it? Also, do you have any kind of aftermarket engine or tranny mounts? These have been known to cause vibration in some cases. I'd first contact the vendor where you got it to check with them, then ACPT if they can't help. I've had no issues with my DS since I got it installed - it's still vibration-free, but I haven't yet broken 100mph.

Keep us updated and try to limit your time under the car while it's on the dyno

Being under they car while its on the dyno is not really a big deal its totally safe. I have seen more than one 600 hp car use it and we have had much larger stuff roll on it (minivans, yukons, dragsters) but I have zero driveline mods. I am really hoping that I am not one of the unfortunate few that got a bad shaft...

Assuming that between shifts the clutch is disengaged (and therefore the driveshaft is attached to the engine), that is curious behavior. Did they disconnect the battery while working on the car? That might explain a difference in behavior, as well as an increase in SOTP feel over the next few days while the ECU relearns.

Probably just my poor explaination of how it feels. I think it's more likely the shock-absorbing property of the CF that makes the shifts feel so silky. The battery was never disconnected, so it wasn't ECU-related. I agree that it is curious behavior, but I love it! Among the few mods I've done to my car, this is by far my favorite.

The improved shift quality is probably my favorite thing about the CF d/s. I remember feeling some torque gains throughout the RPMs, but it's been on for so long now I don't remember what driving w/o it was like. Was it worth $1100, probably not. Would I buy a used one for $700, most likely.

I just learned today that Braille has a CF driveshaft available and instock. They cost approximately $1300 - $1400 I believe.

Just thought I would let everybody know - one more option on the market for light driveshafts...

I'm doing some other stuff (coilovers and suspension stiffening) so the driveshaft upgrade is going to have to wait on my car....

Most of the stuff Ive read in this thread indicate this DS to be awesome as hell. I cant help but wonder then how big a diff it would make to have the DS, light flywheel, light pulleys, and lighter rims/tires.
