IWSTI Addict since: May 2005 Trader Rating: (2) | ^^ completely off topic but the way you wrote that made me laugh So let me put a little more on here so it seems like this post had some thing worth while in it to read. I did my base line dyno pull on my car not five days ago. I have a 04 STi completely stock with 17,025 miles at the time of the pull. Once I get this driveshaft I plan on getting dyno’ed again. So that you guys can see what just this one part will do to my stock STi. Just giving you guys some thing to look forward too. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2003 Trader Rating: (1) | Man, I've been riding the fence over this ACPT driveshaft for weeks. I have another browser open with 1 STI ACPT driveshaft in the shopping cart... so hard to pull the trigger ![]() I guess I'll go for it. I'm sworn off enging mods, so there are only so many things I can do now to get more pep out of my ride. I also got my car dyno'd recently (another stock 04) so maybe I'll do another run post-DS just to add to the before/after database. Unofortunately, I made 245hp/251lb on a mustang dyno on a COLD day. I can't see beating that, now that the temp is up 10-15 degrees. Anyway, it looks like I'll be typing in my credit card information now |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | Well, after months of just sitting in my room, I finally got my CF driveshaft installed. While it wasn't a dramatic difference (and again, that's probably because I haven't really played around enough yet), I do notice a nice increase in acceleration. Fifith and sixth gears are especially impressive: no need to downshift any more for passing someone. And i concur with what a lot of people have already said. For some reason, shifting has become smoother. I don't know why. The only complaint, and it's a small one, that I have is that in first gear when I get on it, you can feel the vibration. Ha ha. It gives me the impression though that I have a lot of power off the line being utilized more efficiently, so I really don't mind, at least not right now. Anyway, that's my report. Worth 1100 bucks? I don't know about that. But again, I'll have to play around some more before I make a sound judgmenet. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2004 Trader Rating: (6) | why are some people waiting for dyno results on this to decide whether or not to get this driveshaft--this piece does not make horsepower--it allows your car to put more power to the wheels because of the weight savings over the stock unit--less rotational mass to spin means your car can put more of its power to your wheels instead of the driveshaft--it is like putting on: lighter wheels lighter rotors gutting your interior lighter battery and so on do you guys ask for dyno sheets for a lighter battery or wheels--i sure hope not--if you do then you have no business modding your car i have had the shaft for almost a year now and love it -- when i first put it on the car drove like an automatic with the seamless shifts because the shaft was still spinning at the same rpms when i had the next gear in just get it -- you will not be disappointed |

The manufacturer/seller advertise a 5% increase across the rev range, so I think people just want to see what it does in the real world. I wouldn't fault someone for researching as much as possible before dropping $1k+ on a part.Glad to hear it's working well for you - I'm most looking forward to the change in shift feel | |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2003 Trader Rating: (1) | The next round is slightly delayed - I hear they should get the next batch sent out from ACPT early this week, but it's less than they originally thought. I think they said it was 8 or 9 for the STI. They only have 1 rig setup to make the STI version of the driveshaft, but 6 to do the WRX version, so that's contributing to the delay. I guess ACPT has a lot of high $$$ contracts for more important things than driveshafts, so they get bumped a bit. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
