broken differential?!!?

So today i was doing my rear diff drain and refill and found 4 peices of teeth on the magnet!!! How long is it until my whole rear diff goes? Also what would of caused this? all i have done to my car is a cat back exhaust...

Damn. Did you buy it new or used?

If used, that could explain all.

If not, I am pretty sure you just have a faulty diff, and even with a cat back, a dealer will still fix it under warranty.

I bought it used, but i got an aftermarket warranty that will cover it so it will get repaired under warranty so im not worried about that.
