Clint mentioned that they did the early fittings of these on a kartboy short. One other thing I did while I was in the console was to move the roller switch for the dccd.I trimmed some of the flexiable covering and some of the electrical tape from the wire bundle and mounted the switch next to the on-off button up by the hand brake. The cover that was there fits right into the space were the switch was. |

| Shamwow Vince is my hero | I just finished mine. It took me longer to extract the stock bushings than to install the new ones. COBB double adj. short shifter FTW! |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2001 Trader Rating: (0) | I just installed mine. It was very easy. I was able to push it most of the way in by hand and finished it off with a c-clamp. The only weird issue I had was that I was not able to torque the bolt to 8 ft lbs. I mean, I was able to, but it was way to tight. I tried it a couple times and got the same result. I ended up doing it by how the shifting felt. Unless my torque wrench is f'ed up, which I doubt, I don't know why this would happen since it worked with the stock bushings when I installed the KB SS. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | I just installed mine this evening in my Kartboy short shifter and it was really pissing me off. I grabbed a couple of big washers that I had and used those in conjunction with the stock nut and bolt and squeezed them together. For those of you using this method make sure you tighten the nut until you can't tighten it any more with reasonable force (I didn't at first because I was afraid to split the bushing and it kept backing out when I loosened the nut). Voila! Bushing will be seated with no marring of the face. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2004 Trader Rating: (2) | i installed mine last weekend, it had to be the one of the easiest install i've done in my car, EVER! it took me 15 mins. just used flat head to take off the existing bushing and greased up the new ones with lithium grease, gave couple banging with the hammer and it was IN! i torque wrench only go down to 10lb, so i just hands feeling to do it. first time was way too stiff so i loosen up a little, but it was too soft. so i just play with it couple times and just got it to way i like it. i love this thing, TIC SS kit with this bushing really fiinshed off my shifter. hey clint, you should include pivot bushing on your SS kit! thanks by the way oh yeah and thanks for the airplane, my cousin's been playing with it all night. lol Last edited by JKonquer; 08-25-2006 at 02:28 AM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 Trader Rating: (9) | i just installed the bushings and the factory ones were actually harder to get out than it was to get the new ones in? is that supposed to be that way? i thought it was supposed to be really tight. but it does still feel like a more gated feel. |
