Ever get a nick/bump going into 3rd?

Mine is an '05 and I now have KartBoy Front and Rear bushings + TIC bushings + Group-N Tranny Mount + TIC crossmember mounts. Problem is still there. For me it is a sporadic nick going into third from second gear. Not a grind. It is a single metal-to-metal nick/bump. I am not talking about notchiness. You can feel the single metal-to-metal nick. Again, it doesn't happen all the time. Seems to be fine if I shift really slow or really fast.

What I CAN tell you guys is that almost 2 years later and it has not gotten any worse.

yes, this is what i am talking about.. i feel the metal to metal nick/bump while going into 3rd. it seems like if i press the shifter little to the left(towards the first gear) going into 3rd, it's ok. i just hope nothing gets messed up because of this nick/bump

i get that notchyness sometimes too. but its not just in third its in other too like 6th sometimes

No, the '04 and '05 trannies have 2 synchros in some gears, and 3 synchros in the rest. I think it has the same # of synchros in its gears as '06.

I took the car to the dealer for the brakes, nick on third, and clunk from the trunk. They said that the brakes were good, they could not replicate the nick, and could not hear the clunk.

Right after I drove the car home, my brakes were still making noise, I could feel the nick, and the trunk makes a clunk noise when I go over bumps. WTF, I hate Subaru Warranty BS.
