Default Possible reason for ss reverse lockout rattles?

I just finished installing a Cobb short shifter in my '05 STi. While swapping parts from from the stock lever over to the Cobb unit, I found a soft rubber seat for the reverse lockout spring that I believe should be moved over with the rest of the parts. The seat is located just above the round plate that the screws go through to hold the silver cover piece. Neither the HSPN install video nor the Cobb installation instructions have any mention of this piece.

Pictures below show the part still on the stock shifter, the part itself, and the part installed on the Cobb lever.
