its on the end where the shifter bushings are located. it works just like the cable adjusters on a bicycle brake.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for the suggestion. Is the barrel that you adjust the thing circled in red in the attached picture?

Also see this thread for another possible source of reverse lockout rattles after ss install.

I second wdb's post. I had a rattle on my KB post-installation test drive that was caused by my failure to transfer the little rubber piece. I swapped it over, and no rattle since.

Well I tried to tighten the cable underneath the car and the whole line just spun. I think that I'm going to bribe Tom @kartboy to fix it for me.

Krazyk - did you have a chance to look at your uninstalled stock shifter to see if there is a gasket still on the shaft? It sits right on the seat of the reverse lockout.

No, I didn't see anything on the old shifter. I do remember the gasket that your talking about but I can't remember if I reinstalled it or not. I hate messing with that cotter pin so I'll have to suck it up until I run into Tom again and throw some cash his way.

I installed the old shift knob and while I was under the car I gave the cable a little tug. This seemed to stop most but not all of the rattles coming from the shifter.

I'm done trying to isolate this issue for now. I'll have to corner Tom @kartboy with a roll of pennies to see if he can fix it.
