Default IKEYA Formula Sequential Shifter

I was browsing through a site and came upon this little invention. I know some of you guys might want something like this.

http://www.ikeya-f.co.jp/en/index.html

Here is a video of a JDM Subie with it installed. I have no idea what the guy is saying, but it gives you a nice demonstration of the shifter in action.

I am not interested in it myself, but thought I would share anyway.

I am assuming that you use the clutch still but just row the shifter up or down instead of the H pattern. Seems pretty cool...looks like a baseball bat in a huge freaking leather boot though lol. Would be really cool if they made it look exactly like the stock shifter, but it just went up and down. Cool idea/product though.

well they obviously make it...I would send them an email...or japanparts.com

Japanparts may not carry it, but they are located in japan...and should be able to hook you up some how. I would also try memoryfab.com if they cant do it.

It might take some time to get used to. It's like a manumatic or tiptronic with a clutch. I didn't like when downshifting rapidly from 5th to 2nd. That looked ackward. Cool invention nevertheless.

The clutch would be used when pulling away from a stop and coming to a stop. Once you are rolling you can up and downshift without the clutch. A company made one for the VW GTi VR6's a couple years ago-it was $20k though!!

Seems you should read the page on the shifter before posting such a fact.

The fourth bulit on the page regading the shifter states "Clutch operation is required for shifting, since this products applies to normal mission." This thing seems like a total waste.....learn how to drive your freak'n car, the better you get the less chance you have at a miss-shift. just my.02

basically, it is a waste..plus you have to look at the guage.....ok...cool

realy smg boxes should have dogboxes that only require lifting the gas at street speeds, but allow you to bang the SH17 out of it like the m3gtr

but learn how toi drive a clutch...not a smg without the hydro-clutch

My fault-I just assumed it was like other sequential shift tranny's found i race cars. What's the point if you still have to use the clutch? The one that was sold for VW's did not require using the clutch once the car was rolling because it had dog-tooth gears.

I think your thinking of the dsg transmission. The german cars have these but there real expensive and they only come in the top of the line cars. dsg stands for direct shift something (I forgot what the g stands for, gears?)
