IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (4) | I just had the Street disc professionally installed over the weekend and I was hearing some squealing sounds at low RPM's and at idle. I brought it back to the shop and they said I have a noisy release bearing. The vendor I bought it from says that ACT's are "like that man". It's really a god awful sound. Does anybody with an ACT clutch have this problem? Thanx guys. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. Last edited by BillFromTR; 04-04-2006 at 04:31 AM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (4) | yes it squeals. and when i downshift when I'm going slow it sounds like wastegate flutter. only at low rpm's though. At higher rpms i think the engine drowns it out... this is normal? |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | I have close to 1k on it since my install 3 weeks ago. Pedal feel is as smooth as the day i put it in, sound is still there though since after that first 10 miles. I'll let you know if anything develops. It pretty much stays that way. I have the 6 Puck race disc, I don't know if it will develop the same as yours. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | Might be the throwout bearing that comes with ACT kits then. Dunno, my friend's mr2 and mine both squeal. So does my friend's civic. Pretty sure its the throw out bearing like i said earlier. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2003 Trader Rating: (0) | I don't think I'm hearing anything like this from mine. I had the ACT HDSS (street disk) and ProLite flywheel put in last week and have put 700 miles on it since. I get some drivetrain noise when cruising steady throttle on the highway that goes away with more or less throttle or clutch in, but I suspect that's the flywheel or diff bushings. I used all the ACT parts and had a clutch shop do all the work. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
