IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (7) | alright got my car back today. the car feels so different now! becuase of the clutch? it cut off on me the first time i got back in, it's been 1 week. the clutch also feels short or very picky? sensitive? i told the mech @ subaru if this is normal and he said it wont feel that way for long. can anybody tell me how a new clutch should feel like? i bought my sti used. now tell me if anyone has gottin this but when i was driving home, i felt the car is ****, i mean i know i dont got the stage 2 but should that stock map make a big difference between stage 2?? gosh. also i caught a CEL i thought it was maybe the tbe. i didnt have my ap at the time to check but when i tried giving it some gas in 5th right after 5k rpm's then car felt like it pop 2 times. like it wasnt getting any fuel. i tried going high again and did the same time but after i get thoese pops or gerks while stilling giving gas it goes away and still the highs go up as normal....it did that stuff in 4th 5th and 6th...is this boost creep?? i'm was really the stock map at the time...or something to do with the cel? i got home and check the engine bay to see if anything smelled or was loose. foubnd nothing. so i flashed my ecu back to the updated stage 2 93 oct map then went back out on the road to test if i stuill got these pops ior gerks. i didnt....dunno what that map could have done to fix it. anyone know??? if anyone can answer some of thoese questions above it would mean alot. anyways im now happy my car is back and stuff. i bought a few things for my car sense it's been gone. guess they;re welcome back gifts =)) |

Yes at the begining a new clutch will feel like that. Now for the "boost creep" yes that is the feeling. If you put your STG 2 back on, and as you said it did not happen again then you are all set. There are a few threads about this on the EM section.... | |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2004 Trader Rating: (8) | It probably wasn't so much boost creep, as just the stock fuel cutoff level being lower than the boost you are making with stage 2. The stage 2 map raises the max psi you are allowed to make without hitting fuel cut. |
