You need 3 floor jacks... two under the tranny and one under the front of the engine. You need to keep the front of the engine high so that the tranny has room to slide out on the dowels. Without the engine jack, the engine leans forward which makes the angle impossible to pull the tranny out as it snags on the dowels. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | well I am finishing up today and man the tranny was a pain in the a$$ to get back in. Me and my buddy spent an hour trying to get it to connect to the engine. Finally he just pulled the engine and the tranny fell right in. We thought it was getting caught up cuz of the spines wern't lining up on the shaft. Hell we punched the dowels out to make it easier to install. Oh and we use one jack the whole time too. |

Just had a little trouble getting the throw-out bearing to seat and the slave cylinder for the clutch was a pain to get bleed also. Other then that not too bad but now I can probably do it faster if I had to do it again. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (6) | I would like to know more about the SPEC with regard to daily driving. How is the pedal effort compared to stock? How is the 'grabbing' compared to stock? Is it jerky? Is it a lot more difficult to engage smoothly? t |
