| Professional STI Racer | I recently put in a cobb short shifter and the ring just below the reverse lifter thing hits the silver ring that has STI inprinted at the top. The ring is held down by screws if you dont know what im trying to say... Anyways anyone else have this problem? Obviously it hits when going into 2nd 4th and 6th. If you do have this problem as well, what did you do to fix it?? thanks guys. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

If so you have your throw adjusted way to long, the bottom adjustment needs to be lifted up, this will shorten the throw, and center your shifter. If thats not what your talking about, then correct me,and I will try to help. |

I think you mean the shift boot holder (-takes to 2 screws) is hitting the silver boot trim? You need to lift the top half higher if you have a long throw(bottom half short). If you have a short throw(bottom half long) then you would lower the top have. This would center your rod and give you clearance. Hope this helps... | |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2005 Trader Rating: (4) | I have mine adjusted almost all the way up on the bottom adjustment "throw" and all the way down on the top adjustment. just play with it, and you will find what you like. I actually drove around with the shifter boot off, and an allen key shifting/stoping..playing with it, and trying again. let us know if you need any more help. |
