all cars have this adjust screw on the clutch pedal, it controls how much "free play" a clutch can have. i don't know much on the STi, but i did a few times before with my RX-7, i suggest you find the online service manual and look for how to adjust free play on the clutch

He's probably talkin about adjusting the clutch pedal stroke. http://www.auto-epc.ru/2004%20STI/04...ch%20Pedal.pdf
But anyway its a link to the manual and how to adjust the clutch peda. You can't really adjust the clutch engagement point itself because its a hydraulic clutch.

my bad, the site isn't working anymore. I have the copy of the file.

http://home.sc.rr.com/kyong/10.%20Clutch%20Pedal.pdf

the clutch pedal stroke is the length of the clutch pedal movement from being depressed to being released.

it moves the catch point basically.

because adding more tension to the hydraulic line it acts like if your pressing the clutch even though you are not, so it basically moves the "power band" as some would say in engine terms.

would the dealer do this?? it seems complicated i don't want to mess it up. my pedal is all the way at the top and it makes quick shifting irritating

it is very easy to do. all you need is a 12mm wrench(maybe 14mm) to loosen the not on the back side of the pushrod on the clutch pedal. DO NOT ADJUST MORE THAN 1/2 TURN AT ONE TIME. try it and see if you need to go more, a little adjustment makes a big difference.

If there's room for improvement, why not. Stock isn't always better. Thats the reason we're modd'n the hell outa this car. lol

This adjustment is very easy to do. I did this on my 350Z and now I just did it in the STI. The result?., the engagement point is much sooner from the floor to "grab".. faster response. The feel?.., a lot less effort, more like not fighting the clutch anymore (for lack of better word), smoother shifting as well.
First thing is get familiar with your clutch mechanism. This is the clutch of a 350Z. It's nicely labelled and its basically the same as any other clutch. http://photobucket.com/albums/y46/ro...t=Clutch1a.jpg
