IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2004 Trader Rating: (6) | This only happens racing when I get on the gas right after a corner. It sounds like the dif, rear but maybe center, is binding... sorta like when you turn on the DCCD and turn a corner, but I have it on auto... after it feel and sounds like binding, it releases with a nice clunk and a shot of power. I’m bringing it into the dealer, but anyone have any ideas?<O This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

| Spiteful Old Codger | Thoughts: * Have you checked the oil level and cleanliness? * Have you replaced the oil, and if so, with what? * Are you lifting the inside rear and putting it back down on throttle? * Are you LFB'ing and lifting on entry? * What's your DCCD setting? Have you tried changing it? * If you are lifting the inside rear, have you tried less rear bar? No rear bar? * What tires and spring rates are you using? i am lifting, but it doesn’t matter it happens either way. I’m not LFB at all. i have a whiteline 24mm bar in the back but i was put on in the beginning of the season when it wasn't happening at all. suspension I’m using pinks by akri(sp) and ohins | |

| Spiteful Old Codger | There have been reports of rear differentials failing due to lifting under throttle with race tires. I have not personally had a problem with this (knock wood) and there are certainly a number of '04s out there with many, many runs on race tires and no rear differential problems - yet. Maybe the problem isn't really related to autoX, but that does present itself as a likely culprit. The reason I bring it up is that if lifting is the problem, you could take measures to reduce it in terms of suspension tuning and driving technique. Maybe it's just wearing out for other reasons, though. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2004 Trader Rating: (1) | i made a post about this a few days ago... i can't say I ever noticed a *sound*, but certainly the feeling was there, it wouldn't put the power down smoothly if the wheel is cranked, the rear will skip around unless I am pretty gentle on the throttle. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2004 Trader Rating: (6) | this is very loud. and it dosn't feel like the rear end is skipping at all, just like it's lost power then it comes back with a big bang. |
